Martha's Vineyard

Oak Bluffs, Massachusetts - President Obama landed Sunday in Martha's Vineyard for a family vacation, the first real first time since taking office in January.

The Obamas were taken by helicopter from Cape Cod to the islands airport and then by column to the 28-acre compound in Chilmark president is rented to a GOP cover up to $ 25,000.

Plan for next week? Plan. The main title of the president announced this week, aides said, and hopes that reporters respect the privacy of their daughters Malia, 11, and Sasha, 8, while on the island.

That seems fine with the same visitors.

"He worked his butt," said Donald Miller, 57, infected the 22-car convoy smell.

"He deserves a vacation, and I hope he was."

Sports complex has a swimming pool, private beach, basketball and even a hole - everything that Obama should be happy.

There was some speculation that Obama visits ill Senator Ted Kennedy, who is fighting cancer compounds in the brains in the history of the family in Hyannis Port.

For now, aides said, no such visit is planned.
