Intel to make major mobile strategy announcement

Intel's mobility group radical to provide a major announcement on Tuesday that could lead to supply chips to Nokia. In an e-mail on Monday, Intel said it will host a press conference on Tuesday to call for Anand Chandrasekhar, senior vice president and general manager of Intel's Ultra Mobility Group.

Bloomberg said Intel will announce a deal with Nokia to provide chips for mobile devices. A spokesman for Intel declined to comment on the report from Bloomberg.

Intel Corporation announced an agreement with LG Electronics in February to cooperate in the development of smart phones in the future based on the Intel "Moorestown" for Moblin Linux, software and silicon.

In March, Intel announced an agreement with Taiwan for the manufacture of semiconductors (TSMC) to cooperate in the manufacture of corn processors.

While Intel processors power the vast majority of PCs globally and the company is not a player in cellular telephones.
